Mariangela Panniello graduated (cum laude) in Molecular Neurobiology in April 2011 at the University of Pisa, with a thesis about synaptic plasticity in the visual cortex. During the master training she performed in vivo two photon imaging and in vivo electrophysiological experiments.
After a three months internship contract at IIT (IIT@NEST, Pisa), she obtained a PhD position in Molecular Biophisics at Scuola Normale Superiore-Pisa, funded by the Italian Institute of Technology.
Her current research focuses on the study ofnanovectors for in vivo delivery of oligonucleotides to the Central Nervous System. The aim of her research is to develop systemically-administered nanosystem capable of interfering with altered gene expression patterns in mammalian neuropathological models.
